Finance Intern

Private equity moves the world, but the systems that are supposed to keep it moving are stuck 20 years in the past. Data on who owns what lives in spreadsheets, stitched together from a myriad of legal documents, conflicting versions of cap tables, and long email threads. That stitching is often done by time-crunched investment professionals who want to create value, not reconcile cells. All it takes is one error to spoil meticulously kept ownership records, not the sort of surprise you want mid-exit. Enter Centi. About the role
As a Client Services intern at Centi, you will work in a team of twelve where your contributions have immediate, visible impact. From your first week, you will be working directly with PE funds, deal teams, CFOs, and legal counsel, building a deep understanding of how the industry operates and what the people inside it care about.
You will learn how tech, law, and finance come together to power private equity ownership. And you will do it in an environment that genuinely encourages initiative, not one that hands you the smallest possible tasks.
As part of the Client Services team, you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining the ownership data that our clients depend on. That means goso that when a fund needs to make offers, process a leaver, or run a valuation, everything is accurate and ready to go. You are not just organising data. During your internship with Client Services, you will actively contributing to building the single source of truth that PE firms trust to manage their ownership.
No two days look the same. One morning you might be piecing together the full ownership picture of a newly acquired portfolio company. That afternoon, you could be preparing a fund-wide rollout across ten companies or working alongside our Client Services team, consisting of lawyers with experience from top-tier law firms, to get a client live ahead of a transaction deadline.
Along the way, you will build real relationships across the industry. You will learn how to manage PE stakeholders, set operational processes, and communicate with precision across legal, financial, and commercial teams.
Who we are looking for
A proactive problem-solver who takes ownership of challenges, identifying improvements and implementing solutions before being asked
A structured and detail-oriented person, comfortable cleaning and organising large data sets in Excel and Sheets.
A clear communicator who can work directly with leading private equity firms to streamline ownership management, configure employee equity plans, and deliver creative, real-time solutions to operational challenges.
Curious about technology and excited about AI, you do not need to be technical, but you should be genuinely interested in learning.
A degree or pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a similar quantitative field
Experience with Claude Cowork is a plus
