Meet Sebastian & learn about his internship at Centi
From day one, he’s been working alongside top-tier Private Equity firms, optimising data and driving customer success to help scale ownership structures and incentive programs through our platform.
Are you looking for an internship next year?
If Sebastians experience sounds like a fit, we’d love to hear from you! Please send your CV and a brief introduction to people@gocenti.com for our upcoming 2026 spring internship.
What does a day in the life at Centi look like?
The day starts with a quick alignment with the team, mapping out incoming requests from PE firms, lawyers, and portfolio companies. Then we get started assisting with share issues, repurchases, onboarding new investors, or other ad-hoc requests that come in.
After a break enjoying my lunch, I usually move on to onboarding new portfolio companies. This by reviewing and cleaning data to align everything with Centi's standards. Coordinating with management, deal teams, and law firms to ensure accuracy.
This is actually your second stint, having interned at Centi in 2023 as well — how has the company grown since then?
The team has more than doubled in size, and we're now located in a great new office in Gamla Stan. I'm happy to report that the good vibes and momentum from 2023 however remain intact.
The software is a new beast, along with more in-house expertise to lean on. It’s inspiring to see how the company has grown into additional international markets, and that many more funds have chosen to use the software. This time around, I felt the increased exposure to international jurisdictions and incentive programs.
What skills or lessons from Centi will you take with you in future professional roles and studies?
I take with me the coordination and know-how I learned while assisting PE firms. It's been a crash course in successful ownership structures across Europe and the US, as well as the processes and practices behind PE firms and law firms.
I also learned how to scale a product and how to implement lessons learned from operations. Working in a startup, I have gained exposure to various departments and how we collectively create solutions that our customers will use.
How would you describe your Centi internship to someone who’s never heard of us?
The internship is at the center of the PE equity ownership structures process, coordinating with management, lawyers, and funds to achieve a good and transparent outcome. The importance of getting things right for this critical part of PE-firms' operations leads to a role with significant impact from the start.
What’s been your favourite ‘learning curve’ moment so far?
Working with a UK company for the first time was a great learning experience. It was exciting to see how we adapted the software to fit a new jurisdiction. I learned how to identify the necessary changes, gather input from the client, and translate that into a working solution on the platform.
