👋 Say hi to our new team member Emma Tysk

Read about her role at Centi, oven design and what she is excited about next. 👩🏻‍💻

Hey Emma! What's your role at Centi, and what's the most exciting part of your work?

Hej Hej! 👋 I’m the product designer 🎨 at Centi which means my days are filled with brainstorming, sketching, and prototyping. I think the most exciting part of my work is that I get to work closely with a very passionate team, tackling new challenges daily and building something amazing from the ground up!

If you were to describe your design style in three words, what would they be?

User-centered, engaging and creative.

How does your design style reflect in your work at Centi?

When designing tools for everyday use, I prioritise a user-centered approach to ensure our products are intuitive and helpful. I want to create engaging experiences that not only solve users' problems but also challenge their perceptions and uncover new needs they hadn't considered. My goal is to transform tasks that might seem monotonous or daunting into something fun and creative, making our products both useful and enjoyable!

What do you do when you’re not designing Centi?

Most likely after work you’ll find me rummaging through a second hand shop. I also love doodling on everything in front of me ✏️ and travelling ✈️ as much as I can!

If you could redesign any everyday object or experience, what would it be and why?

Every time I have to interact with a new stove I’m always surprised how badly they’re designed. I understand they’re made to look sleek and clean, but that usually comes with the removal of clear labels and buttons (and there are very few common interaction patterns between different brand models). Additionally: what drives me most mad are the beeping noises they make when there is too much water on them, which for some reason can never be customised or turned off 😂

3 things that excite you right now?

Summer, liquorice ice cream and moving back to Sweden later this year! ☀️

We are currently hiring!
