Welcome to Centi Joshua! What's your role, and what's the most exciting part of your work?

As the Sales Lead at Centi, I get to see firsthand how we help Private Equity professionals tackle one of their most tedious tasks — equity management. What excites me the most is seeing how we lift the burden from time-constrained investment professionals and management teams, allowing them to focus on higher-priority tasks. It's hard to understand how PE-firms who are so meticulous in everything they do continue to rely on outdated processes, especially when automation could save them time and improve efficiency. Seeing the positive impact we make by streamlining their operations is incredibly rewarding.

You’ve got a background in investment banking at Access Partners—what skills from that world translate best to your new role?

Transitioning from investment banking to Centi has given me perspective on how we can better serve Private Equity firms. My experience from Investment Banking has given me an understanding of the workflows and daily operations of our customers, including how decisions are made and the roles within the organisation. This insight allows me to better identify the pain points our clients face. Furthermore coming from a boutique bank i’m used to working in tight teams with a strong culture which has made it easier to slot in my new role at a fast-paced startup.

We heard you’ve visited every buffet in Stockholm. What’s the ultimate top pick?

Sales is all about people—what’s your approach to building strong relationships with clients?

For me, sales is all about building trust and understanding. I believe that the best relationships are built by genuinely listening to clients and understanding their unique challenges. It’s important to ask the right questions and be empathetic. I know from my banking days how little time our customers have to procure new tools and sit through demos. I’m here to prove that Centi is not just another software product inquiry bouncing off your inbox. Centi is a solution partner that takes the final responsibility for all activities surrounding equity management from entry to exit.

If you could pitch Centi to anyone in the world over dinner, who would it be and why?

The obvious answer would be Schwarzman, Kravis or someone of that caliber. The wholesome answer would be all my close friends within private equity. I see how hard you work, the pressure you’re under, and how managing incentive programs is the last thing you want to deal with. So, Elias, Jonatan, Astrid, David, Sara, Nick, Julia and everyone else—take the intro, push Centi internally, and lift some of that weight off your shoulders.

Finally, how do you celebrate a big win?

At the buffet table of course! Stacking my plates the same way I stack my wins… ;)
